AREA & ATTRACTIONS
An ideal location for exploring the South and West of Cornwall with it's glorious coastal views and hidden coves and beaches. Visit the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, at the head of the Helford River, beyond which is The Lizard Peninsula, the most southerly point in Britain with beautiful scenery. Further west is St Michaels Mount, Penzance, The Minack Theatre (an open air theatre built into the cliffs), near Lands End.
Take the scenic route by train from Lelant to the lovely town and beaches of St Ives, popular with artists, and pay a visit to the Tate gallery. Walk the coastal footpath which extends around the entire Cornish Peninsula. Visit Falmouth where, guarding the harbour are Pendennis and St Mawes Castles, the latter being easily reached by foot ferry from Falmouth or use the King Harry car ferry to explore the rest of the Roseland.
At Helston the Flora Dance takes place in May and there is the ever popular adventure park of Flambards and go to the Cathedral City of Truro for it's shopping centre and concert venue,The Hall For Cornwall. Many of the National Trust Properties and the beautiful gardens of Cornwall such as Trebah, Glendurgan, Carwinnion and Trelissick are nearby. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are well worth a visit.
